Gail Head is a mother, wife, and designer/seamstress/instructor by trade for fine arts of sewing and music. She considers the sewing machine her partner. Having had her family victimized by an out of control CPS agency and corrupt family court, she has chosen to use this talent and expertise to help raise awareness to the abuse and plight of our children and families through the Awareness Quilt. Good Morning, Ladies, Gentlemen and Families.
This quilt is a small token of our love for all the children who's many names and faces it contains. Those represented here are only a small percentage of our children who have been victimized by CORRUPT Family Courts; STOLEN by CPS-placed in Foster Care, and many who are SOLD into Adoptions and are never allowed to see their families again. These are NOT isolated cases. This IS a National Problem. This willful destruction of a family is as great a loss as any death could be, and in all reality, it is a death -- death of a family. The pain, grief, and suffering is no less than loss of a life.
This quilt is made of material just as our families are made of love and a bond stronger then the thread that binds these squares together. It has taken more days and hours to make than I can count. I have no regrets. It has been both heart-breaking and yet rewarding. The heartbreak that these are ALL "innocent victims" and Rewarding because it gives them a voice to be heard. Not a soft voice, but a loud and stong voice, STOP the ABUSE.
All are Victims of corrupt family courts. BOTH parents of these children are responsible and should have "equal parenting", unless there is true threat of harm or injury to the child. Family Court Judges are just as quilty as an abusive parent when they rule with a biased gavel rather than stopping the parental fights in the courtrooms over custody and control and mandate what is truly in the best interest of the child.
These children are the real victims and are paying the ultimate price.
This quilt has two sides. One side, has our leaders of tomorrow. Alive but yet continue to suffer and PAY the price for what CPS and Corruption in the Family Courts has "doled out on them", for the LOVE OF the almighty dollar. Some of these children on the quilt did make it back home, but most did not and now wear a price tag on their heads.
The other side contains children that will not be afforded the same opportunities, as they were "Protected to Death".
Side 1
The side of the quilt features children who are still alive but are victims beyond words. They have been preyed upon and abused by an agency established by the very government of this nation that was "supposed" to protect them from harm and provide assistance to those that needed it. That government agency is none other than Child Protective Services, a.k.a. CPS, regardless of the particular name by which they call themselves in their respective states. They have become an "out of control" and all too powerful government entity that has NOW become the real true abusers of the children, their parents, and their families. For what and why? The government funding they can claim and bring into their agencies and their State's general operating funds. This agency has truly lost sight of it's intended purpose and the very reason it was established. Sadly, every child now wears a $price tag$ on their head.
Some of these children on the quilt did make it back home but Most of them have not been returned to their innocent parents and families. No charges have been filed against these parents. No evidence of abuse is shown yet these children will never be returned home. It's no longer a matter of what is truly in the best interest of the child, but rather what is in the best interest for the agency and the State financially. This only serves to further victimize the child.

On this side of this quilt are the children who have been "Protected to Death". These children will never have the chance to ever go home again. Their lives have been taken away just as easily as they were taken away from their homes. They were abused, murdered and died at the hands of strangers while those sworn to protect them, bitterly Failed. No one ever feels the pain like the pain that mothers and fathers, grandparents and family members of these children feel who truly loved and cared for them. This is "innocent" death at its greatest loss.
Where is the accountability for CPS and the Family Courts for the deaths of these children? Should there be such immunity as they have afforded them for their "FAILURES to PROTECT" that they claim to escape the prosecution and punishment that anyone else would face for such a death of a child?
The CPS agencies have truly lost sight of what their goals "should be" and have instead become with clouded vision as to what their duties and obligations to our children really are. How many more of our children must pay this price before we say "STOP Protecting Them to Death" and do the jobs you took your oaths to do? Family Court Judges and CPS are NOW corrupt. Where IS the justice? Who is truly responsible for the ultimate price these children have paid?
