, from U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow, for his Runner-Up win in Best Life Magazine's National Hero Dad Contest. Best Life Magazine is read by over 3 million people nationwide and is part of the media powerhouse Rodale Publishing. Only 3 winners were chosen in the entire nation after an extensive selection process. This is news the entire state of Michigan should be proud to cover as evidenced by formal recognition by U.S. Senator Stabenow and Michigan's First Gentleman Daniel Mulhern.
This amazing award comes just on the back of receiving a congratulatory letter from the Michigan Office of Governor First Gentleman Daniel Mulhern. Robert Pedersen is also one of the two Equal Parenting Bike Trek cyclist who will depart from the Lansing Capitol on August 11th, 2007 and pedal 700 miles to Washington, D.C. just in time to be greeted by over 100,000 people attending a rally in our nation's capitol.
"Hero Dad" cyclist Robert Pedersen and cyclist Robb MacKenzie will both be departing on August 11th for a 700 mile trip to a rally being held in Washington, D.C. on August 18th. Robert and Robb will have to pedal on their bicycles a minimum of 9 hours a day, not including supply and water breaks, in order to reach Washington, D.C. on time. Both cyclists are making this grueling trip to bring awareness to Michigan House Bill 4564 and a child's fundamental right to equal time with both fit and willing parents after a divorce.
