# 200:Jul 18, 2007, Dan O'Moore, Australia - The unilateral exclusion of either parent without proven just cause should be illegal. Childrens rights should be over and above the "winning" parents. Children need both parents. Allegations of abuse, if unfounded, should attract legal action to reduce false allegations. Legislation that would help would be if a parent is excluded through false allegation equal time with their own children to that lost by the excluded parent, excluding the parent giving false allegations would be a good incentive to reduce false allegations and strengthen real allegations of abuse since the allegation would be made in the face of legal action & possible exclusion itself.

# 199:Jul 18, 2007, Rhonda McEntire, Oklahoma - Reform DCFS/CPS, Foster care requirements and protecting the innocent while providing support to the families of America. Thank you.

# 198:Jul 18, 2007, Deborah McLean, New York - Stop the funding of monies that have encouraged states to tear families apart. Many families, including mine have been ripped apart for the sake of money. This needs to STOP NOW!!!

# 197:Jul 17, 2007, Carnell Smith, Georgia - We mus call for Senate hearings to reform the state incentives in the Title IV-D program that destroys families. Let's include truth-in-paternity whenever a male is alleged or presumed as the biological father, statutory right to a legal DNA test for paternity confirmation, protected due process, no abuse of discretion in family court nor should the courts aid and abet fraud against any party. See on-line video at www.myspace.com/PaternityFraudExpert then warn military men and parents with teenage sons. Truth is a good thing.

# 186:Jul 17, 2007, Anonymous, Arizona - There should be something said for those parents who are divorced and one of them lives outside of the state that their child(ren) does. I have 3 children who live in southern California. I had some substance abuse problems, a substance that ironically I was introduced to by their father whom they live with now, and I took care of it. I have been clean for 2 years on my own. You would think that CPS, which is supposed to be protecting the family, would see to helping me be able to have my children come and visit me. I have become an independent woman with a job and my own place to live. I am willing to be tested randomly for drugs and have many friends, family and co-workers that would be willing to give affidavits attesting to me being clean. I have also seen the living conditions that my children are living in. The house is atrocious. I believe that CPS should be help just as responsible to fix families as they are at tearing them apart. They claim that they do it to help the children. But in the process they destroy the family and the childs sense of security. They should be responsible for repairing the damage. Everyone makes mistakes.. and when you right the wrong you've done and learn from it... there should be a way for the parent and child(ren) to reunite and see each other more than a few days at a time a few times a year. I learned two very true and empowering things during the time I righted my wrong..."I make mistakes but I'm not a mistake" and "If you don't make mistakes you're not learning." These are some of the same core values that we teach our children. We tell them that it is only human to make a mistake and while we dont like it and there are consequences, mistakes are forgiven and life moves on with that lesson learned. We are teaching our kids this but not showing that we do it ourselves. Everyone deserves a second chance. Where is the family's second chance? our children and their parents need this country's help!

# 180:Jul 17, 2007, Anonymous, Illinois - State judiciary systems are slanted and lie to us. Indiana in particular believes that 95% the time mothers should have the kids, and often use the good ol' boy network to pad someones pocket to win a case. Case and point, a mother on drugs according to the state is a sound choice over a father who does not do drugs. I find that obsurd, and have experienced a lenthy divorce process that was poorly handled... The systems bulldoze you, make you wait, bulldoze you again, and keep lawyers wallets fat by extending a case up to 10X longer that it should take. Atempting to break the father's bank and spirt. Which in my case the system failed to give fair judgment, and did present me with challenges that took me several years to recover from. The system as a whole needs reform, equality and fairness are a must. The system needs to exclude criminal lawyers and judges from family choice dissions, period!

# 160:Jul 16, 2007, Debra Hamilton, California - Its time for the government to stop taking children from perfectly good parents to collect money from our Social Security Trust fund. A child is usually better off with their real parents even if they are poor. Oh, CPS targets poor parents because they get less resistance in terms of the legal battle they are able to wage. Is this the kind of America we all want; where the government can take your children without a warrant just for the funding stream. Shame on CPS and the lawyers and judges that look the other way. Lets fix this problem. Get involved before it happens to your family!

# 156:Jul 16, 2007, Laurie Frisch, Iowa Provide an incentive to ensure a permanent situation for a child...maybe... but definitely remove the bias toward one type of permanent situation (adoption) over another (a loving mother or father or other relative who is willing and able to care for the child).
